(1) The Government of Nepal may at any time release any property acquired under this Act and the Government of Nepal shall, as far as possible, return the property in the same condition as when it was acquired. However, natural loss or divine event will not be considered due to exchange and change made according to the second chapter of section 5.
(2) When any property is released from acquisition, if the Government of Nepal deems it necessary to carry out any investigation, it shall carry out such investigation and give a written notice to whom the property is to be returned, and as far as possible, the property shall be given to the person from whom it was acquired or to the rightful owner of the property.
(3) After the acquired property is handed over to the person mentioned in the order issued under sub-section (2), all the obligations of the Government of Nepal regarding that property shall be terminated. But it will not interfere with the right of any other person who is entitled to the property against the person to whom the property is transferred.
(4) If the person who takes possession of the acquired property is not found and there is no agent or other person authorized to take possession on behalf of that person, the Government of Nepal shall publish a notice in the Nepal Gazette stating that the acquisition of the property has been released and from the date of publication of such notice, the property has been handed over to the concerned person.
